Our two dining experiences at Northland, I can honestly say, were as different as night and day from each other. Upon our first visit, the service was both personable and prompt, and the food was far better than that hinted at, by the chill of Northland's spartan atmosphere.

So expecting the same, good food and personable service, we returned once again. This time however the service was simply abysmal, as even though they were not at all busy, we were very sadly disappointed, by the wilted room temperature meal served to us.

We were tired after a long day of house hunting, and being ravenous as well, we ate in resigned silence as we dismissed our growing annoyance. Then as we meekly paid for our meal, I offered a quiet expression of our disappointment, to the nice young woman at the register.

It was while driving to our temporary home, that it suddenly occurred to us, that we had been taken for $40.00, by those who gladly did so without a wince of conscience. As I turned the car around, we began discussing how we should handle this, and we agreed that we would be every bit as firm, with them, as we were going to be fair, to ourselves, for a change.

Our bad experience at Northland was surely not the fault of the chef, and though we at first thought the waitress deserved all the blame, for letting well prepared food wilt into slop before serving it, it was soon apparent to both of us, that the blame really belonged to the ingracious, even spiteful woman, who this evening is so woefully mismanaging Northland Restaurant & Dairy.
