About us
Ohio Contemporary Ballet, formerly Verb Ballets, connects with the community in Northeast Ohio through dance performances, outreach programs and the community dance school. The company vision is currently led by Dr. Margaret Carlson, former principal dancer for the original Cleveland Ballet, and Richard Dickinson, MFA, former Ohio Ballet dancer. We offer community dance classes through the Ohio Contemporary Ballet Center in the Cleveland suburb of Shaker Heights. Offering drop in classes for adults in ballet, hip hop and contemporary for all levels including beginners. OCBallet Youth Academy offers classes for ages 2-14 in ballet, hip hop and contemporary. As well as performance opportunities with the company for all students.
