Olga Schuth, M.D. is a plastic surgeon at Monument Health Plastic Surgery in Rapid City. She grew up in Kostroma, Russia before moving to North Carolina with her family. Dr. Schuth completed her undergraduate degree at University of North Carolina in Wilmington then attended Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University for her medical degree. She went on to complete her Integrated Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery Residency at Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center and a Hand and Microvascular fellowship at Vanderbilt University.
Dr. Schuth specializes in reconstructive, cosmetic and hand surgery. Reconstructive surgery includes post-cancer resection, like breast, as well as post-trauma defects. Cosmetic surgery encompasses everything from face lifts, mommy makeovers, liposuction, botox and fillers to hand rejuvenation with fat grafting. Finally, her hand practice involves peripheral nerve releases such as carpal and cubital tunnels, management of joint arthritis, as well as tendon, nerve and bone repairs.
Dr. Schuth recognizes that when patients come to see her they are in a particularly vulnerable time in their life. While her goal is to return form and restore function, she makes it a priority to listen to her patient’s needs and ensure that she is taking care of the whole person rather than an individual problem.
Dr. Schuth and her husband enjoy hiking, biking, swimming, and camping. She also enjoys running and recently ran her first marathon. In addition to staying active, Dr. Schuth also loves growing plants and has a small orchid collection.
