About us
Patricia L. Eichhorn, MD, holds a Bachelor of Science in biochemistry from Indiana University Bloomington. She received her medical degree from St. George's University in Grenada, West Indies, and served an internship at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia. She then completed her residency in General Surgery at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. Dr. Eichhorn completed a fellowship in advanced minimally invasive, robotic and bariatric surgery at Albany Medical Center in New York. During her fellowship, she gained significant experience in weight-loss surgery as well as advanced training in minimally invasive foregut and robotic surgery. A surgeon with Bariatric Solutions of Greenville Health System (GHS), Dr. Eichhorn is a clinical assistant professor at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine Greenville,. Her clinical practice and academic work concentrate on minimally invasive and bariatric surgery. Dr. Eichhorn has presented nationally on topics related to single incision laparoscopic surgery, and she continues to be involved in research in the field of minimally invasive and bariatric surgery.
She has a passion for medical education, starting with first-year medical students and continuing throughout surgical residency and fellowship. She is board-certified in General Surgery by the American Board of Surgery and is active in the American College of Surgeons, the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons, and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgeons. Dr. Eicchorn is a licensed Zumba instructor and offers classes to her patients both before and after surgery. She participates in charities and was one of the celebrity dancers in the 2015 Oxygen Ball. She enjoys dancing, hiking, kickboxing, baking, painting and writing poetry.
