Combined Manual Therapy addresses the body as one integrated whole, utilizing a systems approach to healing. Different styles of Manual or “hands-on” therapies are fluently integrated during each treatment session to provide our clients with an avenue to achieve physical, spiritual, and mental well-being.

Each of the body’s systems is evaluated and treated with the most appropriate style of therapy. Some of these therapeutic approaches include

Melanie Calitri Holden, owner and director of Physica Center for Healing and Education is known internationally for her expertise in healing, spiritual transformation, and relaxation/stress relief. Melanie is a graduate of Boston University with a degree in Physical Therapy. Over the past 25 years, she has helped thousands recover from serious injury and pain, renew their lives, and experience a peacefulness and joy that they never dreamed possible.

Melanie began her career in sports medicine but quickly became frustrated with the traditional therapeutic model of exercise and modalities (ultrasound, hot packs, etc.). Treatment protocols targeted at body parts gave limited results. She sought out new ways to address simple and complex conditions that treat the human body as an integrated system, including the relationship between the emotions and physical dysfunction.

In 1987, Melanie was introduced to a new treatment approach called Myofascial Release. The fascia, a continuous network of connective tissue in the body, provided a perfect avenue for addressing all systems at once. Melanie put these techniques into action and immediately saw dramatic results. Continuing her education in this arena, she studied with manual therapy experts such as Dr. John Upledger, the founder of Craniosacral Therapy, Dr. Jean Pierre Barral, creator of the highly effective Visceral Manipulation technique, and Sharon Giammatteo, who has taken manual therapy technology to new heights. Melanie is a Reiki Master, and has a natural ability to work with the energy systems of the body.

Melanie brings her expertise in spiritual transformation, meditation and stress reduction to her clients and to a broader community through workshops, trainings, audio programs and books. She is the author of The Ultimate Wish Book for Grown-ups: How to Use the Magic of Santa to Create Your Dreams, for which she has received international acclaim. She creates internet based movies that offer peaceful communion with a growing interfaith global community and has hosted an internet radio show.
