The primary purpose of Cryotherapy is to reduce inflammation throughout the body and to accelerate healing and recovery. The main applications for Cryotherapy are Athletic Recovery, Chronic Pain & Inflammation and Post-Surgical Healing. It is also used to improve skin conditions, mood disorders and blood circulation.

An important benefit of cryotherapy is the reduction or elimination of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) usage. Cryotherapy induces the body to release its own anti-inflammatory and pain reducing compounds. This helps to avoid the many dangerous side-effects of NSAIDs.

In the Cryotherapy process, a person simply steps into a cryosauna for less than three minutes while the surrounding air temperature is lowered to about -250 F. As the cold air touches the skin's thermosensors, the body reacts with a powerful, systemic response. Natural anti-inflammatories, endorphins and hormones are released into the bloodstream as the body prepares to protect and heal itself. The cold air also induces the production of collagen.
