Preston Atteberry, M.D.
About us
Preston Atteberry is an assistant professor of medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine and a clinical gastroenterologist at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center. He has additional training in hereditary cancer risk assessment.Dr. Atteberry received his undergraduate degree in Economics from The University of Chicago before attending medical school at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City. He then completed both his internal medicine residency and his gastroenterology fellowship at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center, where he stayed on as faculty after graduating.Dr. Atteberry practices general gastroenterology and has a particular interest in patients at increased risk for gastrointestinal cancers. He offers genetic testing for hereditary cancer risk assessment as part of his practice and works with a multidisciplinary team to help manage and counsel high-risk patients. Related to this, Dr. Atteberry is interested in colon cancer screening and endoscopy quality and serves as part of NewYork-Presbyterian’s endoscopy quality committee. In addition, Dr. Atteberry is passionate about teaching the next generation of healthcare providers and frequently works with medical students, residents, and fellows.
