About us

Owner, Martin Hernandez grew up in the beautiful town of San Miguel de Allende in the heart of Guanajuato, Mexico. Surrounded by his 14 siblings, he grew up with strong, family values and a love for cooking; as they all came together learning dishes from his mother to prepare family dinners. He and his sister moved to the states and opened their first La Mexican Kitchen in 1983. As our family's business grew, Springfield, MO became our home. The beautiful 417 area brought small town closeness, a love for new flavors and an open idea to his cultures favorites.

With 3 location now as Primas Mexican Kitchen, the locations continue to grow and develop a unique menu of the Hernandez family favorites with traditional roots and our own modern feel and taste. The menu brings a diverse selection with intoxicating flavors. Everything is made in-house from our hand-cut proteins and house mixed spices to our scratch made sauces starting early every morning. Freshly cooked chips and a wide variety of hand-made salsas complement any taste or spice preference.

Our comfortable atmosphere invites everyone with their family and best of friends.
