Infectious diseases can be spread from one person to another either directly or indirectly. Anyone can get them. Sometimes referred to as communicable diseases, they are most commonly caused by bacteria, fungi, viruses and parasites.
Infectious diseases can be contagious. Our board-certified infectious disease doctors can diagnose, treat and prevent infections caused by microorganisms such as bacteria, viruses, fungi and parasites; and diagnosis and best course of treatment for diseases like West Nile virus, new strains of E.coli and HIV/AIDS.
