Ptosis is the condition that causes droopy eyelid which is the abnormally low position of your upper eyelid. Since the droopy eyelids vary in severity they can range from hardly noticeable to completely covering the pupil, iris as well as other parts of the eye leading to blocked vision. Usually there are two types of ptosis namely acquired and congenital. While congenital ptosis is present and detected at birth, Acquired ptosis occurs due to the muscles that elevate the eyelid becoming weak, thin, or stretched with age. Ptosis correction can be done once the doctors identify and ascertain the severity of Ptosis that a person is suffering from.
