Hey everyone! Meet Max my best friend, muse and inspiration for over 14 years, and myself Lara! Puppy Island Care & Spa™ was founded in the summer of 2018 with the goal of caring for and fostering pups until they were dispatched to a permanent home. Puppy Island Care & Spa™ became an actual doggy daycare and spa after I saw the stressful conditions my own pup Max faced while at a boarding facility away from home. I visited different boarding facilities with Max to see if we could find one where he did not return home shaking in fear but we failed. I thought to myself, “I want to create a home away from home, where even pups with severe anxiety can feel calm and nurtured in.” And thus the journey began, from this moment on, my own home became a home away from home to pups all over the world. I started to learn more about all the different techniques that can be used to calm a pup with anxiety, how to truly help them feel at home, loved and nurtured until they reunite with their family outside of “the island.” Today, Max and I want to welcome you to the Puppy Island Care & Spa™ family where your pup is the star.
