About us

Rachel A. Newman, MD, MBA, is a board-certified and fellowship-trained obstetrics and gynecology specialist focused on hematologic disorders, advanced maternal age, and rare fetal anomalies. 
She’s also an assistant professor in the Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine within the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston.
Newman received her medical degree in 2016 from Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts. She also has a Master of Business Administration degree from Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts. Newman completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology as administrative chief at the University of California, Irvine Medical Center in Orange, California, and her maternal-metal medicine fellowship at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
Outside of work, she enjoys hiking with her puppy, skiing as a professional ski instructor, and working on her Spanish.
