About us
Dr. Rachel Wheeler is an ob-gyn doctor at the Mechanicsville location of Virginia Women's Center. As a student at the University of Virginia, the future Dr. Wheeler was drawn to the sciences, particularly biology courses. But she didn’t choose medicine as a career until her third year when she realized that life as a physician would perfectly combine her love of science with her desire to help people. Later, in medical school, she chose to specialize in women’s healthcare. Up to that point, she hadn’t even considered OBGYN as a specialty, but on the very first day of her OBGYN rotation, she fell in love with the idea of caring for women through every stage of their lives.
