Waterproof laminate floors are a multi-layer synthetic wood fiber and waterproof mixture fused together with a lamination process. Why choose waterproof laminate over vinyl SPC floors? With Vinyl SPC the primary material is made of a polymer plastic and limestone mixture. Plastic is known for being non-degradable and terrible for the environment. The nature of polymer plastic is extremely sensitive to heat, during summer days the house can smell like chemical plastic. Also, many bay area houses are equipped with wall-mounted heaters. With constant hot air blowing, the clicks between each plank will deform resulting, in a lifespan of only 1-3 years.
