Rick's Prime Rib House
About us
Rick's Prime Rib House is located in the Doud Post, an historic landmark in the Town of Gates in Monroe County, New York. The Town of Gates, established in April of 1813, was named after General John Burgoyne at the Battle of Saratoga in 1777.
In the early 1900s, Gates resident and WWI soldier, William Wiley Doud, was killed in battle in Grand-Pre, France on November 1, 1918. His heroics on the battlefield warranted some type of recognition in the hearts of the townspeople.
It was determined that the American Legion Post would be memorialized as the Doud Post. On October 28, 1929, William's father, Frank Doud, broke ground on the largest American Legion building in Monroe County. The building was completed and formally opened on May 22, 1940.
In spring of 2006, Stacy and Phil Cammilleri took over the thriving restaurant. A new executive chef was added to the staff to tantalize your taste buds with mouth-watering fresh seafood, flavorful chicken, succulent steak, and pasta entrées. It goes without saying, that our featured dish is our famous signature prime rib entrées, ranging from our 14 oz. cut to our 44 oz. cut. You'll find our prime rib succulent, juicy and slow roasted to perfection, served au jus.
