About us
Rosemary Davis-Gordon works as a certified nurse midwife (CNM) at Prisma Health OB/GYN in Columbia. A South Carolina native, Davis-Gordon graduated from the University of South Carolina where she received her bachelor's degree in nursing.
While doing her obstetric rotation in nursing school and seeing her first delivery, she knew that labor and delivery (L&D) was her calling. Upon graduation, she worked as an L&D nurse at the Medical University of South Carolina where she cared for both high- and low-risk obstetric patients. While at MUSC, she had the opportunity to work with certified nurse midwives. Seeing their approach to childbirth, she realized that she wanted to pursue a career in midwifery.
She attended MUSC and received her master's degree in nurse-midwifery in 1994. Since graduation, she has worked in a variety of settings including private practice, teaching hospitals, inner city clinics and rural clinics.
She enjoys caring for women throughout their lifespan and building a rapport with them. She feels that her goal as a CNM is to provide excellent care and to empower and educate women about their health so that they can make informed decisions regarding their care. She is board certified through the American College of Nurse Midwives.
