About us

The Smith family started in the automotive business in 1917 in Yorktown, TX. W.C. Smith moved to the Houston area and partnered with the Russell family in 1965 to form Russell & Smith Ford Inc.

Lindsey G. Russell's legacy passed down to his son, Bill Russell and Ivy-Russell Motors became Russell & Smith Ford, Inc. The dealership continued to grow and in 1970 moved to it's present location, 3440 South Loop West. Russell & Smith Automotive Group welcomed two new franchises, one of the first Honda dealerships in Houston in 1973 and a Mazda franchise in 2005.

Russell & Smith Automotive Group is now run by the fourth generation of the Smith family. The legacy continues to serve our customers with the quality of service that they deserve in every aspect of our business 100 years and running.
