About us

Dr. Atallah is internationally recognized for his work in rectal cancer, and for developing innovative approaches in the field of colon and rectal surgery. He has lectured and trained hundreds of surgeons the techniques he has developed across the United States, as well as in Europe, Africa, The Middle East, Asia, South America, and Australia. He is the co-creator of TAMIS, an operation that allows for the removal of rectal tumors without having to cut into the body. He is an active member of several surgical societies, and is the current Chairman of the New Technology Committee at the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons. Dr. Atallah has relocated from Orlando, Florida where he as earned the distinction of 'Top Doc' by Orlando Magazine annually from 2011-2024. Dr. Atallah is a true expert in the field, and has authored three textbooks and over 100 peer-reviewed scientific publications. He is active in teaching the next generation of doctors and physician assistants and has trained scores of residents, fellows, medical students, and physician assistant students. Dr. Atallah has been in practice since 2007, and is double board certified in general and colorectal surgery. He completed residency in general surgery at the University of Texas Medical School - Houston, TX, with special training at MD Anderson Cancer Center, and Fellowship Training completed at Methodist Hospital, at the Texas Medical Center. More recently, Dr. Atallah is a graduate of the Surgical Leadership Program at Harvard Medical School. In addition to clinical care, he plans to be active in the education of future healthcare professionals and to continue his research endeavors.
