Selective Sounds

My name is Shauna Raynor, owner of Selective Sounds, and I am a licensed Hearing Aid Specialist and a Certified Occupational Hearing Conservationist. I have worked with the hearing impaired and in the hearing health field since 1998. After many years of observing the detrimental effects hearing loss has on our quality of life, I decided to start Selective Sounds.

My goal is to teach others about hearing conservation and how to protect our hearing while not giving up comfort or quality of sound. Hearing loss can severely affect one’s ability to communicate with friends and family, enjoy music, or even play a musical instrument. It not only subdues the volume but often distorts sounds, like speech and music, making them unclear or unnatural.

Hearing loss can be compared to listening to music through a blown speaker, we can turn the volume up but that just makes the distortion louder. My goal is to teach others about hearing conservation and how vital it is to start early.
