Say hello to Jaric Erike. 👋 Born & raised in Mesa, Arizona, Jaric completed his undergraduate degree at Loyola Marymount University where he obtained a finance degree with a concentration in business law and was a recipient of the Kenneth Olsen Scholarship Award. Additionally, he was a founding father of Phi Delta Theta fraternity chapter and an executive board member of the Business Law Society. Jaric received his law degree from Arizona State University’s Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law. Here, he was a member of the Sports and Entertainment Law Society, and the Black Law Student Association, and received the Class of 2018 Sandra Day O’Connor Dean’s Award. Say hello to Jacob Pierce. 👋 Jacob started his journey at Shapiro Law Team as one of the first interns ever hired. Since clerking at the firm during his first summer of law school, Jacob has stayed loyal to SLT and looked to David as a professional mentor. As such, he is the first home-grown attorney in Shapiro Law Team's young existence. After finishing high school in Detroit Michigan, Jacob obtained his undergraduate degree in political science from the University of Michigan. He earned and accepted the O'Connor full-ride merit scholarship from Arizona State University's Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law, where he obtained his law degree.

Say hello to Kurt Maahs. 👋 Mr. Maahs joined Shapiro Law Team in November 2021. For over 25 years, Mr. Maahs has successfully tried, arbitrated, and mediated hundreds of cases ranging from product and automobile liability to commercial litigation. Before joining SLT, Mr. Maahs was a managing attorney of the Arizona office of Sweet James, LLP, and an assistant managing attorney at Phillips Law Group, P.C., representing victims of personal injury as well as individuals in bad faith actions against insurance companies. He also spent time as legal counsel for major corporations, including Walgreens, State Farm, Johnson and Johnson, Marriott, and Home Depot. After earning a degree in criminal justice from the University of Nebraska—Lincoln (1991), he graduated from the University of Nebraska Law School (1994). Since then, Mr. Maahs has focused on providing the highest quality and most effective representation to his clients. He is admitted to the Bar in the state of Arizona as well as Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, and Iowa. When he’s not working, Mr. Maahs enjoys spending time with his family, hiking, running, reading, golfing, and following the Nebraska Cornhuskers.

Say hello to Jackson Ross. 👋 Jackson is a personal injury attorney at Shapiro Law Team that actively represents plaintiffs in cases involving motor vehicle collisions including: motorcycles, commercial trucking and pedestrian accidents, dog bites, premises liability, general liability, dram shop, serious injury, and wrongful death. Last year alone he helped obtain over 6 million dollars in settlements for his clients. Jackson was born in Dallas, Texas but was raised in Phoenix, Arizona. He went back to Texas to complete his undergraduate degree. At Austin College, he graduated magna cum laude, double majoring in business administration and political science, and was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa academic honor society. He was also a member of student government, a peer tutor, a member of the community service board, co-founded his own service organization: The Human Environmental Animal Team, and played NCAA Division III basketball. Jackson received his law degree from Arizona State University’s Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law. He is licensed in Arizona and admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court in Arizona. In Jackson’s free time, he enjoys staying active, playing golf and tennis, hiking, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. When he gets the chance, he also enjoys skiing and snowboarding.

Congratulations to Jacob Pierce for securing a $200,000 settlement for his client, a passenger in a rear-end crash. 👏 Jacob and his team worked tirelessly on this disputed injury case to prove the subject accident re-injured and exacerbated his client’s pre-existing chest condition which had just been operated on months prior. The accident caused the client’s pre-accident medically implanted hardware in his chest cavity to shift resulting in severe nerve pain. Ultimately, Jacob secured a hard-fought $200,000 settlement for the injuries sustained.
