Shelby Comprehensive Treatment Center (CTC) in Shelby, North Carolina, offers medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for adults age 18 and older who are struggling with an addiction to heroin, prescription painkillers, or other opioids. MAT combines the use of medication and counseling to give adults the support they need to work toward recovery. Adults who take part in MAT at Shelby CTC receive a prescription for methadone, buprenorphine, naltrexone, or Suboxone. These medications are effective in reducing the severity of withdrawal symptoms and have proved to be safe when administered by a healthcare professional. MAT at Shelby CTC also includes individual and group counseling to help adults achieve their recovery goals.
