About us

Welcome to Shepherd Veterinary Clinic, conveniently located less than a half a mile off of 495 in Boxborough, Massachusetts. Our Veterinary facility is a renovated historic barn with all the modern amenities and equipment necessary, while preserving the look and feel of the original structure. Our clients benefit from a retail area specializing in a variety of prescription diets. A wall of Gentle Leaders which promote good leash behavior and toys that promote mental stimulation while they play are among the necessary pet supplies in our waiting area. We have a kennel facility that accommodates up to 55 dogs and 12 cats. Dr. Foster established the clinic in 1992 and lives on the premises with his wife and children. He employs three additional veterinarians to service client/patient needs, including on-call services in the evening for ongoing cases (after clinic hours all emergency cases are referred: visit our “emergency referral” section). By using a variety of diagnostic tools we can offer quality comprehensive patient care, promoting a long and healthy life for your companion(s). We utilize the services of New England Veterinary Specialists, enabling us to offer on-site ultrasounds and specialized surgery done on-site by Board Certified Surgeon, Dr. Michele Kudish. We are also fortunate to have a wide variety of referral hospitals that provide care for special patient needs.
