About us
Silvia Hafliger, MD, is a board-certified psychiatrist trained in helping patients cope with medical illnesses involving organ transplants, cancer, HIV, diabetes, and heart disease. She treats depression, anxiety, insomnia, chronic pain, and substance abuse. She believes in empowering patients and families so they can collaborate effectively with their medical doctors and optimally manage self-care.
Hafliger worked for 19 years at the Center for Liver Disease and Transplantation at Columbia University Medical Center in New York. She believes in collaborative and integrative care and started a psychosocial program for transplant patients that included transplant workshops, a post-transplant support group, and the Liver Connection Newsletter.
Outside of work, she enjoys speed walking, knitting, and spending time with her dogs.
