About us
Dr. Sokratis Apostolidis, MD is an Assistant Professor of Medicine (Rheumatology) at the University of Pennsylvania’s Perelman School of Medicine and Penn Rheumatology Perelman. He earned his medical degree from the University of Athens in 2007, completed his residency in Internal Medicine at UPMC in Pittsburgh, and pursued both a post-doctoral fellowship at Harvard Medical School and a Rheumatology fellowship at Penn. Dr. Apostolidis focuses his clinical and research efforts on systemic autoimmunity, including systemic lupus erythematosus and rheumatologic immune-related adverse events (irAEs) - particularly those arising in patients undergoing cancer immunotherapy. He leads a translational immunology laboratory at Penn, where his team investigates the underlying immune mechanisms of irAEs and lupus to help improve outcomes for both rheumatology and oncology patients.
