Steffen Schmitz-Valckenberg, MD, specializes in clinical and surgical treatment of macular and retinal diseases, including age-related macular degeneration (AMD), and is an expert in high-resolution retinal imaging. Dr. Schmitz-Valckenberg co-founded and directed the Grading of Digital Fundus Examination Reading Center at the University of Bonn, Germany, where he was the Department of Ophthalmology’s assistant medical director.
