Superior Animal Hospital Logo We won the 2018 Community Cornerstone Award. What an honor! The title was presented by the Superior Douglas Chamber of Commerce for our many years of service, community involvement, and commitment to providing our fellow neighbors and their pets with superior veterinary services. Our practice has served the local community since 1979, and there is nowhere else we’d rather call home. The facility at Superior Animal Hospital houses an on-site pharmacy to give our clients convenient and direct access to a wide range of medications their pets may need. Simply by listening to the heart and lungs using a stethoscope, Dr. Michelle Severs can detect signs of a potential heart murmur or other pulmonary abnormalities. A trained veterinary technician prepares to administer a vaccine to a well-behaved patient. What a good boy! Pocket pets, like this ferret, make great forever friends! At Superior Animal Hospital, we treat the whole patient. Health and happiness go hand in hand! Jenna Harting, Hospital Manager at Superior Animal Hospital & Boarding Suites, checks in on pets. Our clinical team is dedicated to keeping our senior patients healthy, active, and comfortable at heart with age-specific wellness care. The boarding suites at Superior Animal Hospital are clean, spacious, and tended to by highly trained kennel staff. We aim to make your pet feel at home during their stay by creating a cozy, safe space. Your pet’s happiness during their stay with us is our top priority. Look at the smile on this pup’s face! Cats staying in our boarding suites enjoy spacious condos with big glass windows for a stimulating environment. (Sorry, no dogs allowed in the cat area!) We understand how much your feline friend misses you when you’re away. That’s why cats staying with us get one-on-one time to help them feel more at home. Our reception team gives the warmest greetings to our clients and their very special pets. Dr. Robert McClellan performs an annual wellness visit with the help of a trained veterinary technician. An assessment of the eyes is just one small part of a comprehensive wellness exam at Superior Animal Hospital. Here, Dr. Robert McClellan checks for unusual coloration, discharge, and other abnormalities. A veterinary technician examines a sample using a microscope in our on-site diagnostic laboratory. We are able to perform urinalysis, parasite testing, fungal cultures, blood work, and much more. More than half of the teeth are below the gum line, so it's not surprising that most dental disease is found below the gum line too! To make up for what cannot be seen during a visual exam, we’ve invested in advanced digital dental x-ray technology. Wellness exams are the cornerstone of preventative veterinary medicine. Our trained veterinary professionals recommend scheduling at least one wellness visit for your pet a year. One way we effectively prevent disease and illness is in the exam room, where we perform comprehensive, nose-to-tail physical examinations. The sooner we catch signs of concern, the sooner we can begin treatment for a healthier and happier pet. Proper dental care is not limited to human medicine. Pets need dental care too! Take a peek inside the treatment area at Superior Animal Hospital. Here, our medical team carries out a variety of procedures, such as administering vaccines, dental cleanings, and pre-surgical preparation. When it comes to surgical procedures, we want to put your mind at ease. Your pet is in the best hands! Superior Animal Hospital is fully-equipped with advanced diagnostic technology, like digital radiography, ultrasound, and EKG technologies.
