Philosophy: Treating the mind, heart and spirit of an individual is a matter of understanding the intrinsic need of each individual who is temporarily suffering. We may not realize we are in need. It may be our friends, or a family member who recognizes something is wrong or "off." We may just feel it in our "gut." Finding that therapist or counselor whom we can trust to talk to is vital in our effort to repair of our thoughts. Moving forward and past those thoughts to a world of peace and tranquility can be challenging, frightening and yet worth every moment. Learning is the key, experiencing is the method and bringing quality to our life is the goal.

Experience: Over 25 years ago I began my journey in healthcare as a Certified Nursing Assistant, quickly realizing my calling was in social work. I became a Social Services advocate for residents in long term care. I completed my bachelor's degree in social work and later completed my Master's degree in social work from Boise State University. I have worked in Cognitive behavioral management and analysis along with providing in-depth psychosocial counseling for individuals with end of life issues and life transitions. I have extensive knowledge and experience with individuals who suffer from PTSD, behavioral management, cognitive deficits and family issues of grief, loss and overall adjustments to life changes. I understand the need to feel accepted, validated and valued. I am a lead educator in the arena of behavioral management, abuse and prevention. I have presented, trained and developed presentations for statewide organizations regarding person-centered care, dignity and behavioral concepts regarding state regulatory requirements. I am versed on the use of psychotropic medications and their interactions with other medications, treatments and research along with their use for specific diagnostic care. I have run group work and research. Other: community outreach, psychosocial assessments, cognitive assessments, emotional and stability assessments, Certified EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprogramming), Cognitive reframing, Quality Assurance.

Personal: I am from Texas. I have lived in Idaho for 25 years. I am the mother of two beautiful, professional women and soon to be a Grandmother. I enjoy riding my street bike, mountain bike, and hiking in the foot hills. I can also be found riding my motorcycle from time to time.
