Tarah Simmons, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, is a patient-focused nurse practitioner with almost 20 years of healthcare experience She currently practices at MUSC Health Orthopaedic Urgent Care-Orangeburg, where she evaluates and treats patients with orthopaedic conditions, including diagnosing injuries and providing casting and splinting services.
Throughout her career, Tarah has held key leadership roles, including Clinical Program Director at Colleton Medical Center’s Advanced Wound Care Clinic, where she managed operations, staff development, and quality improvement initiatives. She has extensive experience in compliance with CMS guidelines, billing and coding, and interdisciplinary collaboration to optimize healthcare services.
A highly skilled clinician, Tarah has expertise in hyperbaric oxygen therapy, advanced wound management, IV therapy, and patient education. She is committed to advocating for her patients and ensuring the highest standards of care. In addition to her clinical roles, she has also served as an Adjunct Clinical Instructor, mentoring the next generation of nurses.
Tarah earned her Master of Science in Nursing, specializing as a family nurse practitioner, from Claflin University. She holds multiple professional certifications, including Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS), and maintains an active membership with the American Nursing Association.
With a passion for excellence in patient care and a dedication to lifelong learning, Tarah continues to make a meaningful impact in the healthcare field.
