This time last year (March ’99) I hadn’t stepped on a job site for two months and wouldn’t step on one until May. I scrambled and signed on with 4 different yellow pages and spent thousands of dollars and got very little return from it. Needless to say I was jaded about advertising when Jessica Rosales called me about helping me advertise online, I blew her off with an ” I’m busy, call me later”. Jessica called again, so this time I tell her “I’m broke, call me later”. Next day she calls again and talks me into meeting her over coffee. I get the whole schpeel, “I’ll get you to the top of Google, (Yeh, right, that’s what Dex told me),”I’ll design a webpage cheap, the phone will start ringing”. I decided to take a chance with her and honestly I can say that she probably saved my business! The phone is ringing, and when it’s not Jessica asking if I’ve noticed I that I had the top space on Google, then it’s someone asking me for a bid on Excavation work. I’ve still got a major hill to climb to get out of the hole I fell into when the housing market crashed, but with Jessica’s help I feel a lot more confident that now I’ll recover from the economy down turn.
