The Grille Haus in Cowansville is excellent. I've taken family and friends out to eat and have had a great experience. Party sizes have varried from 1 to 4. Restaurant interior is relaxing and clean.Atmosphere is above average. A must see. Staff was fast, friendly and frequently checked on our needs. Bathrooms are big enough for wheel chairs. A must for my family. Menu covers a large choice of foods. Seafood and steak orders are great. The portions are large. The cook came and talked with us,explaining how our meals were prepared. She asked for our feedback and was a delight to talk with. Waitress explained the menu, the specials and was always keeping our drinks full. A huge pet-peeve of mine. Desserts were the best..! Waitress went out of her way to help.
The steaks are Texas Big!Had to take them home for breakfast. Out of this world steaks..!!!
Prices are comparable to decent steak/seafood restaurants.
Overall, great experience! I will encourage more friends to visit and I will return.

The Grille Haus in Cowansville is horrendous.

My friends and I went to the Grill Haus this past Friday it was quite the experience. The 6 of us never experienced such a horrendous ordeal in our lives. Although I give the restaurant credit for producing a decent meal, it was not worth all the trouble we endured. When we arrived at the establishment, there were not that many people dining, yet it took rather long to be seated. From the moment we sat down, it seemed like there was turmoil within the restaurant itself. The waitress mentioned that it had been a crazy night and that our meals were going to take a long time, like at least 45 mins and that the cook was alone in the back. We were okay with the wait, and expressed to the waitress that we would stay. Looking back on it, I'm thinking that the waitress probably wanted us to leave, knowing all the trouble which was about to take place. We placed our orders and relaxed, quietly chatting amongst ourselves until the waitress came back to our table to mention a few things there were out of. It became apparent when the waitress returned to our table for the 6th time that the restaurant was clearly under stocked with many of their supplies. Three or four of us in the group had to either change our meal option completely for something in stock or had our menu options so altered, it was barely the meal we were prepared for and were extremely disappointed. The appetizers then came out, in small portions at a high price, but I don't think I was beginning to hit high frustration until I saw finger marks where my pretzels had been man handled and pulled apart. Throughout the course of our dinner I think we saw the waitress 12 times at our table, explaining how something couldn't be done, apologizing for the wait, or describing how they were simply out of basic and essential ingredients. The entrees then arrived at our table, within the 45 mins we had been warned about. I will give the Grill Haus credit for a decently sized steak, but that is about it. My meal was edible, but as others at my table, grossly different from what was described in the menu, and certainly not worth the price. The straw that broke the camel's back for me was when she had described the final item that the restaurant was out of: Iced Tea. Of all the 24 items that we had been told the Grill Haus was out of, I find it to be inexcusable that a restaurant can be out of iced tea. Between the 6 of us, we spent over $200 and had what I would consider to be the worst treatment of my entire dining experiences. Aside from the standardized Sorry we were offered no alternatives, no answers for this horrendous experience and no appreciation for our patience or business. I'm not sure what the problem was on Friday the 26th of Oct. but I will certainly not be returning to The Grill Haus.
