About us
iO Theater is Chicago's Best Improv Comedy since 1981! With four stages, and shows five nights a week, iO is the best club in the city to see a variety of up-and-coming talent. Not only is iO a theater, we're also a training center. Our long form improv program is world-famous and students travel from all over the world to learn the art of improv from top-tier instructors. Our classes run year-round and our program is open to students of all skill levels and experience. Drop-in classes, virtual classes, and intensive classes are also available for those looking to try something new. Our venue hosts a full bar and kitchen open Wed-Sun at 6pm; no ticket is necessary. Come in for dinner and drinks and stay for a show! Affordable and fun.
