9/17/14- So many wonderful dancers from around the Philadelphia area ages of 6 to 18 years of age came out to audition in Bucks County for the Moscow Ballet’s Nutcracker at The Pa School of the Performing Arts. We are almost done casting all of the children’s roles and variations! PSPA is excited for this wonderful experience for these children that will have this great opportunity to be performing with so many professional dancers with the Moscow Russian Ballet Nutcracker in this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to dance at The Tower Theater in Philadelphia on December 6th.

At least 60 student dancers will be selected to perform side-by-side with the professional company of 40 Russian dancers in ancillary roles of Party Children, Mice, Snowflakes, Angels, and more. Moscow Ballet’s “Dance with Us” Audition Director Olga Aru will be present October 4-7 to rehearse and work one-on-one with the student dancers who will perform in the Philadelphia premiere of Great Russian Nutcracker Saturday, December 6, 3:00 PM at the Tower Theater.

Moscow Ballet is pleased to work with Pennsylvania School of the Performing Arts to make the open audition, rehearsals and performances possible. The experience of working and performing with professional ballerinas is often once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for aspiring dancers. “The payoff at the end of the rehearsals is the opportunity to be part of Christmas magic, to dance under shimmering lights with award-winning Russian dancers against exquisite hand-painted sets. It’s great for the kids. They get to dance in a professional production,” affirms The Pennsylvania School of the Performing Arts.
