The Tappen
About us
The Tappen restaurant is located in the quaint, newly restored, historic stone Tappen building. Originally built back in the 1600s, the building acted as a many different dwellings, the first post office, and contained many of the oldest town records (these were later saved by Cornelius Tappen during the burning of Kingston in 1777). In recognition of its amazing history, much of the buildings' original charms have been kept, while a working wood stove and beautiful live-edge, handmade bar have been added. Chef Daniel Sherman features his original, organic and filling New American/Northern Californian fare for lunch and dinner with a growing wine list, beer selection and full bar. Plenty of parking and take-out available, reservations recommended.
