Stay away from the Crook!
He worked on my grandma's sewing machine for a week and when she wanted to be sure it was fixed and it still didn't sew his excuse was that he didn't perform well for an audience. So, she let him work on it for an additional week. It still didn't work when he returned it and other parts that had worked (the foot etc.) didn't work either. A small service charge might be understandable if he wasn't skilled enough to fix the problem, but he charged $90 and refused any refund.
