North Tiverton Water Authority: Terrible communication and service; a legalized monopoly with a strangle-hold on anyone needing water in Tiverton, RI. A couple of years ago we were quoted $500-700 to replace the water line into our house. When the work was performed, they billed us $1,100 then demanded interest while we were disputing the charges. Recently with no notice, they performed maintenance nearby. Unfortunately I was doing laundry and have ruined $300 worth of fabric due to the solid residue that caused the water to turn solid brown. Good luck reaching them on the phone......it's either busy, or they don't answer, or the entire department has gone to lunch at the same time.
