The Liege Waffle Originated in the 18th Century by the chef of the Prince-bishop of Liege, located in Eastern Belgium. The Prince-bishop asked for a pastry filled with pieces of pearl sugar. The result was a delicious treat that has been enjoyed in Belgium for Centuries.
