Western Turf & Hardscapes is a fourth-generation, family-owned and operated turf farm management service based in Reno, Nevada, USA. Since 1978, we've been committed to providing the highest quality sod and hardscape materials to homeowners, landscapers, and contractors across Northern Nevada and the Eastern Sierra.

Our Story

What began as a simple investment in a sod farming business in Winnemucca, Nevada, has grown into a trusted name in the landscaping industry. Founded by Harry Sr. and Maurine Fahnestock, the company has evolved over the decades, with leadership passing to their son, Harry Jr., and his wife, Joanne. Under their guidance, Western Turf & Hardscapes has flourished, becoming a cornerstone of the local community.

Our Farm

Located just minutes from the Reno/Sparks area, our farm spans over 400 acres in Palomino Valley. Since 1986, this site has served as our sod headquarters, allowing us to grow turf that is perfectly acclimated to the Northern Nevada climate. Utilizing state-of-the-art, computer-driven farming equipment, we ensure that each roll of sod meets our high standards of quality and freshness.
