Wine and Roses on New York's Upper West Side is a gem! I first went here with a friend who lives a couple blocks away. We were lucky enough to get a seat at the bar. I met Jennifer, one of the owners. She was very friendly and we spoke at length. I went back this past Saturday night with my wife who really enjoyed the place. We got a table and watched Michael Phelp's win his eighth gold medal. The crowd at Wine and Roses went nuts! It was a great scene. The menu is outstanding and so is the crowd. The wine selection is fantastic, even for discerning folks. The food looks fantastic although we haven't tried it. I highly recommend this place. Don't think its a pretentious wine bar too, because it's really not.
