Yale New Haven Hospital Temple Radiology in Hamden is my worst medical experience. The admin area and office was great. The ladies were wonderful smiles and niceties. A gentleman came in and called my name, I got up he just started walking; I assumed I should follow. He did point to the restroom and ask if I needed to use it. We left the building and entered a trailer. I was asked my name and birthdate and told to remove my shirt and bra. They pulled a curtain. Next I was led into a small area and told to lie down. Here put these in your ears for the noise, grunted the man. Next I was told this will take 30 minutes. Here is a panic button and in I went. Granted I am not comfortable in enclosed spaces. But with little empathy, no bedside manner and no communication. A huge amount of noise began. I was startled and opened my eyes. The surroundings were suffocating. I squeezed the panic button - heard NO response and so I kept squeezing. Then I screamed Can I come out please? Still no response. I was slid out and YELLED out for pushing the button. The man repeated at least three times that he didn't understand why I had to keep pressing it. Hello I was in a complete state of panic. My very first panic attack in my 51 years of life. He suited that he assumed there would be no charge. I uttered not word as I could barely breath and felt like I was having a heart attack . It was the worst medical experience of my life! I have three children all c- sections. This was the absolute worst experience so bad in fact I am thinking of changing my hospital of choice. I took the day off from work for this so I got on line and found an open MRI. I was able to get an open MRI at open MRI or Middletown the same day. The ladies treated me with the utmost respect. Worked with me on comfort. They gave me headphones with music that I chose to block the noise. They spoke to me while I was under the machine and before they left me they told me the best thing I could was not open my eyes until they told me to and go on a vaca. They let me know via voice when the loud noise would commence and how long each session would last. They told me to wiggle and adjust my arms and toes in between and waited until I was ready to start each segment. Medical professionals have so much power. They can be angels or not. I highly recommend open MRI of Middletown. I wouldn't send my worst enemy okay not my second worst enemy to Temple radiology of new haven for an MRI
