About us
Yash Jobanputra, MD, is an interventional cardiologist specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular conditions. He utilizes minimally invasive techniques to improve heart health and is experienced in a wide range of advanced cardiac procedures, including coronary interventions, angioplasty, and stent placement.
Dr. Jobanputra earned his medical degree from Government Medical College in India. He went on to complete his internal medicine residency at the University of Miami/JFK Medical Center Palm Beach Regional GME Consortium, followed by a cardiology fellowship at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester, MA, and an interventional cardiology fellowship at Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York.
Dr. Jobanputra is certified in nuclear cardiology, adult echocardiography, and level two cardiac CT. His interests include complex coronary procedures, use of rotational atherectomy, mechanical support devices and peripheral endovascular procedures.
Working at MUSC Health-Orangeburg aligns with Dr. Jobanputra’s mission of serving the people of South Carolina. His goal is to deliver excellent clinical care to the community and achieve superior procedural outcomes. He takes great pride in establishing a strong connection with his patients and educating them, so they are better equipped to take ownership of their health.
Dr. Jobanputra’s dedication to advancing cardiovascular medicine is evident in his extensive research background, which includes a clinical research fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic under the mentorship of Dr. Samir Kapadia. He was honored with the Young Investigator Award by the American Association of Cardiologists of Indian Origin and has received international recognition for his contributions to medical research. Having published over 30 peer reviewed articles in esteemed cardiovascular journals, he is committed to advancing research in the field and holds editorial positions in several academic journals.
