Dr. Gilbert Herzberg was born and raised in Westchester County. He received his undergraduate degree in history and sociology of science
from the University of Pennsylvania, his medical degree from the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, completed pediatrics residency at Yale-New Haven Hospital and a pediatric cardiology fellowship at the Mount Sinai hospital in NYC.

For 16 years he practiced both general pediatrics, pediatric cardiology, and pediatric urgent care in Westchester and has more recently focused on general pediatrics with an interest in preventive healthy lifestyle issues such healthy eating and exercise. He has been involved with multiple Westchester school health programs and has been an on-field health physician at sports events in several Westchester school districts. In addition, he has been on the medical staff of numerous events including the NYC Marathon, Triathlon, and Ironman, the JCC Maccabee Games, the Empire State Games, the PGA U.S. Open, and many local events. He has also been a camp physician for Forest and Indian Acres Camps in Fryeburg Maine for the past 10 years.

He is an active swimmer, cyclist, runner, and triathlete and has done numerous endurance events. He enjoys promoting a healthy lifestyle to his patients. He lives in Westchester with his wife, three teenage children, and an active Australian shephard.
